Bending: Fire Lord Piao practices a self-controlled, precise, and patient style of fire bending. As taught by his father all the way up until the late Fire Lord's death, Piao learned bending is not something to abuse. Through his teachings, Piao learned that fire bending is a fragile bending art, and in the wrong hands causes destruction; but in disciplined hands can bring forth life and beauty. Although being taught by an incredible man, Piao still has plenty of things to learn if he wishes to become more than adept in his bending art.

Appearance: The epitome of youth, Fire Lord Piao is exactly what people thing of when they think youthfulness. Standing at a modest 5' 10", Piao is built like a tri-athlete. His muscle definition is nothing spectacular, but you can tell that he likes to stay fit. From being outside for most of his young life, Piao has grown a light tan. He lets his jet black hair rest on his shoulders and a warriors knot at the top of his head. Piao has no identifying marks on his body surprisingly.

Clothing: On a normal day away from his duties, and away from government officials, Piao likes to dress casual. He will adorn himself with a light maroon martial arts shirt and a darker maroon martial arts pants. These clothes provide not only comfortability but also free movement whenever the need arises. While dressing casually, Piao enjoys wearing both his hair completely down and some comfortable slip on shoes.

When needing to be more formal, Piao must wear his traditional Fire Lord robes and head piece. The elegant maroon robes laced in gold silk along with the five pronged flame symbolize him as the sole authority and ruling figure of the Fire Nation. Although Piao finds his formal attire too gaudy, he does enjoy wearing the same head piece that not only his father wore but also every Fire Lord before him.

Weapons: Piao was never trained in a specific weapon and thus does not carry one. Unlike many people throughout the world who may consider their specific bending art a weapon, Piao does not. He considers his bending a gift and an added responsibility.

Personality: A caring, considerate, patient, and disciplined young man are just a few words used to describe the young Fire Lord. Throughout Piao's life, he was always taught to be compassionate toward others. Treat people and the world around with dignity and respect is what his mother always preached. His father on the other hand, taught Piao to be disciplined, reserved, but yet precise and assertive when the time called for it. It is with these basic guidelines that Piao lives his life.

He has come to understand that although he is the Fire Lord that does not give him the right to behave any certain way. As far as Piao see it, he is no more important than a poor old man begging for food. It is qualities like that alone that makes Piao well respected around his nation.

He is one to think before he acts, and to never put himself in a losing situation. Although young, his is learning to become just as mindful and wise as his father was. However, there are still things to learn and Piao does enjoy being a normal teen every now and again.

History: Although Piao didn't always realize it, he was destined to be the Fire Lord from birth. Growing up in the Fire Nation palace, Piao, and his sister Daiyu always had whatever they wanted. Food, water, toys, attention, it was all there and all they had to say was a single word. From what Prince Piao could tell, he was living the life.

His parents had other plans for him though. They were extremely mindful and decided to raise their children to be appreciative of their upbringing. Piao was taught at an early age that it was both a blessing, and a burden to be a member of the royal family and that it was wrong to abuse his power. Of course Piao and his sister did not understand at the time and continued to act like spoiled children of the Fire Lord.

Once the Prince began to understand what his parents were teaching him, his father Fire Lord Zhen began to instruct him personally and for hours on end. The Fire Lord knew that Piao was to be his successor, and as such wanted to teach him everything he knew. Piao was taught daily on a number of things including fire bending, the history of his nation, the other elements, and a number of other different things.

Throughout the course of a few years, Piao became exponentially more disciplined, wiser, thoughtful, and even became a stronger bender. Piao gained more respect for his father for teaching him but also wondered why his sister was never included in the teachings. The longer Fire Lord Zhen taught Piao, the further apart Piao and Daiyu became. The divide was a dreadful thing to have happen, but Piao sadly never mentioned it to his father.

Around the age of fifteen, Prince Piao began to notice something about his father. He would move more slowly, his voice became fainter, and his skin became paler. Fire Lord Zhen's decline was strange to witness, but the young prince never thought anything of it. He was still concerned with learning as much as he could and practicing his fire bending.

A year had passed and Fire Lord Zhen's apparent illness had gotten considerably worse. The sickness had advanced to the point where he could barely stand for more than ten minutes and was constantly coughing. His fading health took a toll on Piao, Daiyu, and their mother. There were so many questions that Piao never asked his father. So many things that were left untaught. And before anyone knew it, Fire Lord Zhen had passed.

Distraught with sadness, Piao did not even expect what was destined from birth. His father had left him, Prince Piao, as the new Fire Lord. A funeral was held for the late Fire Lord and the coronation that preceded name Piao as the new Fire Lord. He would now go down in history as the youngest Fire Lord. Piao was not only the youngest, but also he felt as though he was the least unprepared. He didn't know the first thing about leading a nation. One day he was having a friendly duel with friends and the next, he was the leader of an entire nation. It is up to him what happens next.
