What?!? Rules here on such an awesome site? Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, yes we have rules in which everyone must abide by. I know most rules aren't fun, but they are for the greater good. So please if you will direct your attention to the list below, I think you will find it of great importance.
The Basics
- First off before all other rules are listed, please keep this one rule in mind above all others; Follow any and every rule that is listed here and any rule that may be listed in the future.
- Next, another highly important rule to adhere to would be the one of respect; Be sure to respect others as you wish for them to respect you. Especially the people in higher authority. Everyone has a life and the last thing we need is someone yelling and being disrespectful toward others on this site.
- Swearing; please don't over use it. I allow occasional usage of swearing, but let's try and act mature and find other words to use.
- Activeness; If you join this site, I expect you to have some degree of activity. Now I'm not asking that you be on 24/7, but I do request that you find the time to stop in and actually role play. If that's too hard, then simply don't join the site.
- To go along with the rule above, I will be holding an activity check about every month during one of the four weeks. If you fail to show up for the activity check, you and everything you worked for on the site will be deleted. So yes, showing up for the activity check is rather important.
- When asked in the profile template if you read the rules answer as follows: If a waterbender say "Avatar Kuruk". If a firebender say "Avatar Roku". If an airbender say "Avatar Yangchen". If an earthbender say "Avatar Kyoshi". If a nonbender say "Guru Pathik"
- Drama, let's keep that to a....zero how 'bout? If you must argue or say something that you know will cause problems, it would be best to pm someone about whatever it is that's going on. No one else needs/wants to hear about your problems.
- If any of these rules are bent or broken, do not hesitate to tell a staff member about it.
- And while I'm at it, don't be afraid to just talk to us staff members about anything at all. We're people just like you, and odds are we'll get along just fine.
Posting
- The very first rule people should keep in mind about posting is knowing where and what you're posting. Meaning that if you're in an RP board and you just post something stupid like "can I have someone to battle me here?" or "haha that was funny" or anything that's not an actual RP post, it will be deleted. Those type of things belong in the OOC area where you can talk about anything, not in the RP area. Understand what I'm saying?
- It would also be good, for those of you that don't know, what RP, OOC, and IC means. RP (also typed Rp/rp) means role play or any variation of that word (ie. Role Playing). OOC (also typed Oc/oc/ooc) means out of character, meaning not role playing. IC simply means in character, meaning role playing. Hopefully that clears a few things up for you newbies.
- Next it would be wise to remember that in the IC or RP posting area, we HIGHLY suggest you post at least a few paragraphs. We don't concern ourselves with the number of words it is that you post, but quality of posts and in some sense, how long the posts are. Quantity is good, but quality is better, and trust me, with quality comes quantity.
- Oh and no double posting please.
Characters
- One of the most important rules dealing with the characters is the issue dealing with how many you can have. Well to solve that, each person is allowed to have 1(one) character until they have proven they can completely handle it. At that time you will be allowed 1(one) more character. This process will continue as long as you can show you can handle the number of characters you have currently.
- When making a character, please follow the template we set out for you. We will not be mad if you add things on to your profile, but do not remove any section please.
Role Playing
- Rule number 1 in role playing, do not god mode. If you don't know what that means, it's when you do something while role playing that directly controls the other person's character. You are only allowed to control your character. God modding also covers everything that has to do with your character being unstoppable or anything like that. This means that you are not allowed to doge every single attack or be able to withstand numerous attacks. Just keep it realistic. Not even the Avatar is all powerful.
- Next, it is important that when you're rping with more than just yourself (which by the way you can do, just not advised), please take turns posting. When there are more than three, I'd make a posting order just to keep things nice and smooth.
Now that wasn't too bad was it?
